Avoiding the Pitfalls of Overtourism

In 2021, the New Hampshire Division of Travel and Tourism Development announced new visitation records, including a 38% increase over 2019, with 4.3M visitors traveling to the Granite State. Spending by visitors in New Hampshire reached nearly $2 billion — a 65% increase over the previous year. The economic benefits of a strong tourism economy are hard to overstate. 2024 Hotspot Program Match Grant RFP

Calling all land managers! Bring a Leave No Trace Hot Spot activation to your park or protected area in 2024. Proposals are being accepted through February 1, 2024. The selected New Hampshire park or the protected area will be provided with a unique blend of educational programs, training, service projects, and moreover a multi-day onsite activation. Visit New Hampshire is also subsidizing half of the cost of the 5-day activation. Learn more about the opportunity and how to apply here.
