Fort Stark Historic Site
Located on a peninsula historically called Jerry's Point on the southeast corner of New Castle Island. It overlooks the Piscataqua River, Little Harbor and the Atlantic Ocean. Fort Stark was named in honor of John Stark, commander of N.H. forces at the Battle of Bennington (1777).

Jericho Mountain State Park
Miles of trail riding for ATV, UTV, trail bike, and snowmobile enthusiasts. Open to the public, but still in development, guests can also enjoy swimming, fishing, canoeing or picnicking at Jericho Lake. Throughout the park visitors are treated to a number of scenic outlooks.

Ahern State Park
Spans 128 acres, with 3,500 feet of shoreline on Lake Winnisquam. Activities include fishing, biking, hiking. The park was transferred to the state in November, 1994 as Governor's State Park, and renamed by statute in 1998. Ahern is unstaffed but is open to the public year 'round at no charge.

Sculptured Rocks Natural Area
A unique example of nature's powerful yet delicate artistry. The Cockermouth River carved a narrow canyon in bedrock on its way to Newfound Lake during the last ice age. Nature used sand suspended in the current to carve the walls of the canyon into curious shapes and create potholes in the bedrock.

Rollins State Park
On the south slope of Mt. Kearsarge. Scenic 3-1/2 mile auto road rises from park entrance through woodlands to parking/picnic areas, with views from Mt. Monadnock to hills of NH's coastal plain. A 1/2 mile trail to summit leaves from picnic area.

Taylor Sawmill Historic Site
Renovated 1800s historic up-and-down sawmill offers glimpse into beginning of NH's forest products industry. This entire property, including the sawmill, the house nearby and 71 acres of land, were donated to the State of NH in 1953 by Mr. Ballard. Sawmill runs certain weekends in summer.

Wallis Sands State Beach
Oceanfront swimming, views of the Isles of Shoals, and a sandy beach. Beach amenities include a store that sells a variety of items, food, and drinks; and a large bathhouse with hot and cold showers. The park has a grassy area with picnic tables. The parking lot can accommodate 500 cars.

Whaleback Mountain
The mission of Whaleback is to create a year round action sports and family fun facility. In the winter, Whaleback is a ski, snowboard, and telemarking resort. In the summer, Whaleback hosts a wide variety of sports. Children's camps are scheduled in both seasons.

Gardner Memorial Wayside Area
Part of Gile State Forest, which spans 6,675 acres. The Wayside includes a memorial to Walter C. Gardner II, whose father established Gile State Forest. In addition to the scenic picnic area with picnic tables, it is also a popular place for hiking. No winter maintenance.

White Lake State Park

Pillsbury State Park
One of the more primitive, lesser known gems of the NH State Park system. Heavily wooded, sprinkled with ponds and wetlands.
