Join us for a walk to learn some beginner bird-watching skills! Participants will meet in the Library parking lot at 8:30am and walk the WOW Trail down to Belmont Beach and then back to Laconia Public Library. Please bring binoculars if you have them. There will be several pairs of binoculars to share for participants who do not have their own. Matt Tarr, a professional wildlife biologist and NH licensed forester with the UNH Cooperative Extension, will lead the walk and share tips about identifying and viewing local bird species. After the walk, participants will gather in the Library’s auditorium to enjoy bagels, coffee, and tea. Please note that this walk is approximately 4.5 miles round-trip. Sign-up is required due to limited capacity. If weather does not permit, the program will begin at 9am and participants will meet in the auditorium for bagels, coffee, and a presentation of What Birds Can I Expect Here?
