Castle in the Clouds

Castle in the Clouds is home to the Lucknow mansion, an Arts and Crafts-style 16-room home built in the Ossipee Mountains in 1914. The 135-acre estate is surrounded by 5,500 acres of conserved land, provides one of the most stunning views of the lakes and mountains, and is a great place to visit for people of all ages. We offer self-guided tours of the mansion and guided tours of its basement; on-site dining in the Carriage House’s vintage horse stalls and amidst panoramic lakeside views on the terrace; 28 miles of wooded trails and waterfalls; and many programs, events, and activities available for all interests, including live music, guided hikes, stargazing nights, behind-the-scenes tours, and more. Castle in the Clouds is also a beautiful venue for your wedding or private event - we were awarded GOLD for Best Wedding Venue in the 2019 and 2020 Best of the Lakes Region peoples’ choice contest! Each visit to Castle in the Clouds supports our mission to preserve, restore, and share this beautiful New Hampshire icon - now listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Admission fees, restaurant or gift shop purchases, and wedding and event rental fees help to ensure the enjoyment and enrichment of generations to come.
