Alton Bay Seaplane Base and Ice Runway Photo Opp (46 Mount Major Highway, Alton Bay) Head to Alton Bay this winter to see aircraft taking off and landing on frozen Lake Winnipesaukee. Weather permitting, it’s usually open January to March, and is a great place for a cool winter photo opp.
